I have a feature suggestion
Provide a function that will allow scripts to invite residents to the owner's groups. This will be a useful feature because people can have prims that allow residents to automatically add themselves to groups. Also, vendors can invite people who are interested in the products to the group.
ETA: added a proposal #1994

Personaly I'd like to see the function not know what your groups are (as it wouldn't matter) and invite for a specified group.
llInviteToGroup(key group, key avatar)
Or if to prevent people being able to invite for groups they don't belong to, set it so that the object can only invite to the group it is set to.

I wan't LL to dis the "Resident IM's me saying 'Resident has left the group "Your Group".'" shit they just added. I didnt like the "ejected" messages as they were so why would i like this? Why not only show these messages in group sessions or in some cache log or something... Why do i have to be IMed with this? When i first started SL i got a message "Group Owner: Resident has been ejected from group by me" and i IMed them back saying "Yea.. SO? o.o why you telling me?" and he replied like "o.o??". Anyway thats my rant for the day.

How about the message:
Second Life: XXX XXX has left this session
As the only message in a group IM window.

From: Draco18s Majestic How about the message: Second Life: XXX XXX has left this session As the only message in a group IM window. Thats a great idea there. BUT only have it show to those who already have a session open. No sence in starting a new session to anounce someones departure.

Of course, that's exactly what I meant. All too frequently I log in/come away from busy and get one of them. I've bug reported it at least once.

I don't get the technical issue with this feature. I suggested it as well, all it needs to do is send a group invite/eject request as though it were its owner.
Basically, groups must be handled centrally somewhere (a groups server?) as the information is available to all group members, maybe it reaches the sim for handling, but it must be somewhere. So in order for an avatar to remove someone from a group, or invite someone, they must send a request to this server.
So why can't an object just do that in their owner's name? As the 'group server' must surely handle the checking of a user's group role (to determine if they can add or remove a user in the first place!) so it can do all this in exactly the same way, as if the object's owner requested it themselves. Even if LL has some really horrible system whereby the simulator an agent is in downloads the group and role info and handles the permissions, and can still do it there and then for the object as it would an avatar!
Just make llGroupInvite and llGroupEject return a key and result in a dataserver() event (true if it succeeded, false otherwise) and you're set. It really should be very easy, and would be a great step for managing apartment/land rentals use group permissions by allowing only group members to do stuff on the land and add tenants to the list with a script so they can get started right away after paying rent.
