Sorry if this has been discussed to death. I saw a reference to this in the known issues list, but it seems substantial enough to merit discussion. In the latest post it says:

"* Should be at the same relative height after p2p teleport"

Honestly, I'm not sure what this means, but I've been getting wildly different results during P2P TPs lately. And it seems that there might be something to talk about here.

So the question for me is: "What height should you be at after a P2P TP?"

And the answer for me is: "It depends."

If the land owner has set a landing point, then you should be exactly there. I know from experience that this doesn't happen in practice. If your home position is high (mine is at 650m), then many times you pop in at 650m regardless of the land owner's landing point setting.

If the land owner has not set a landing point, then you might think that "the same relative height" would be the right answer. But for people with home locations at altitude, this is not the case. My home is at 650m. That does not mean that I want to P2P to 650m. I want to TP near the ground. So for me, I need some kind of a default height relative to the ground that I can set in preferences.

As it is, I find myself TPing in at 650m at least half of the time and then having to freefall to get where I want to go. Sorry, but that is not what P2P should be.

Well, I'm interested to hear what others think. I just wanted to throw out the issue. If there are other threads, please post a link.
