Would it be too much of a pain to be able to design TWO seperate sleeves instead of having one sleeve and it be identical on both sides?

We got two legs...why not two arms? :p

This would be nice... but only if it could somehow be done without breaking current textures.

Its one of those things that LL should have done from the start. :P

I'm sure it was knocked back and forth at some point ages ago. One thing though, I'm impressed with how well these 512x512 clothing textures actually do. More detail would be great of course, but it's a good compromise -- decent detail, and the size of the texture increases dramatically as you increase resolution, so you're saving time/bandwidth by staying at the lower end.

Backwards compatibility aside, I can't see how they could fit another arm in this size, though. Might have to wait a bit, then code things to allow for larger sized clothing templates. Since available CPU/GPU/bandwidth increases over time, assume that by mid-2005 we can toss clothing textures twice the size around without unacceptably increasing delay in rendering. Code the client to handle 512 templates as currently done, and 1024 templates using different layouts, and off you go.

Glad I don't have to code it, though! :)

I'm all for a second arm in the textures and a second set of controls in the appearance editor for the sleeves.
