is there something you can do to limit the minimum size of lots?. this thing with people cutting up land into 16 sq. and 32 sq metres is just plain silliness! you cant use them for anything except for putting signage up which ruins the sims.... makes them ugly and discourages people fron wanting to own land.....it would be a good step to clean up the mainland. thanx....

Unfortunately because the current way media textures are tied to land, sometimes it's necessary to partition land into small parcels, often to 64 m^2 pieces or less.

Also, in order to create a parcel of the necessary size for tier, group holdings, and so forth, it's sometimes necessary to move small pieces around.

A workable solution to this would be to require one to hold a minimum amount of land in a sim before they can acquire a parcel less then 128 square meters. Perhaps require the prospective buyer to already own 128m in that sim? This would still allow for small builds, like little roadside niceties, but would strangle much of the ad-parcel market.

Also, with a proposal like this, existing land owners would have be grandfathered, so it wouldn't get rid of existing offenders right away. But, it would drastically stop the spread of the mini-plot market, while still allowing for legitimate use of 16-128 square meter parcels.

How about just not letting lots smaller than 64sm be set for sale, unless they're the only land you own in the sim?

I don't see any problem here. Limiting things is rarely the answer. What if someone wanted a parcel just to set up a prim that would run a script forever? I would buy a 1x1 parcel for this if I could.

Assuming it'd have 1 prim allotment. A 16 sq. piece has a whopping 3 prims.

Then they could rent one prim worth of quota from someone in the sim, unless they're doing something the residents in the sim are unlikely to care for... like running a sniffer to help them swoop on land that's going up for sale. :)
