So, here it is.

Unfortunately some members of these forums have taken it upon themselves to be the dreaded "forum trolls". Unfortunately, unlike most public forums, it's not an illegal activity on the SL forums, and such people are not banned. While I would love to see this made a policy, I don't think it shall happen.

So, rather than policy changes which won't happen, i'd like to suggest a feature of "Moderated Threads".

In this, the thread creator would have to approve all replies to the thread before they become visible. I believe this would take care of the rampant trolling which is the SL forums, which so long ago made me stop reading them, and is heading there again.

All in favor?

Probably true, however I think LL has already done significant modifications to the vBullet they run, I think this would just be more for them to do -- their web dev team seems very competent.

si,

I just made the first entry into my ignore list. I don't expect to be adding any more. It's already much nicer. Perhaps this might solve your problem ?

The problem with trolls, is that they incite "rioting", so even if you ignore the troll, you will probably still see the 40 replies to their reply.

It's not a bad option, but it's still problematic -- it doesn't save your threads from them, just saves you the annoyance of reading their words directly.
