I have a feature suggestion about the rezzing of objects

I have a proposal. I say we should have an option where we could decide on the old way (Where objects rez regardless if they are in your field of vision or not) or the new way I suggest (where objects will only rez in your field of view; thereby saving a considerable amount of bandwith towards objects you're looking at instead of wasting it.). This way the user can decide which of the two they prefer.

What do you all think. Please keep this bumped.

I'm not sure I understand what the purpose of this would be. Why would you want to rez something you aren't looking at? If you intend to look at it it's still going to consume the bandwidth as soon as you do. Can you explain how this might be useful?

The way things are set up right now with Second Life is that it tries to rez everything around you. This is bad because it wastes bandwith by rezzing the objects that are NOT in your field of vision. What I want is an option that makes Second Life only rez the objects and land that IS in your field of view. Understand now?

Watch your minimap. Things in your field of view rez first before things outside your field of view. Since most people don't only look in one direction the bandwidth savings of not rezzing what's outside your view at all would be minimal, not to mention that it would very much detract from the atmosphere if things were always rezzing around you wherever you turned. Not saying it's a bad idea, I just don't think the benefits would be very substantial and may be outweighed by the negative aspects.

I think what he/she is trying to say here is that rezzing in objects that you are not looking at would be useful in area in which plays look around alot... i know personally somtimes i like to get a whole picture or 360 and not have to wait for my left and right sides to rez in when im turning around seriously annoying

another feature that might be nice is an option to perma cache certain zones like a button on the side that says cache then it downloads the whole area (for those people who are return visitors to certain areas like moonshire's casino or the shelter

There is a toggle in the graphics preferences called disable far clips. When unchecked this will clip objects that are at a destance. If you are worried about too many objects rezzing, you should uncheck this if you haven't.
