I don't know if anyone at LL has noticed, but there are new players begging for help on these forums and their cries often get lost in the volume.

I've taken to searching for them and replying as I can... but it would be easier and better for all involved if there were a 'New Player Forum' that was clearly marked (BOLD!) for new player questions and such to be posted. In such a place, a stickied post at the top could contain helpful links and related 'New Player' information.

Not only would this give your new players direction on where to go for answers, it would make the process of being community minded and helping out better and more efficient for everyone.

Thoughts?

I do think a more gradual introduction to the Forums would be helpful. I had an atypical experience involving jumping into the deep end of the pool and totally trippin' out about it, but I do realize not everyone wants to do that -- given the swirling hotbed of surreality that SL already is. And all the in-jokes and unique references can really get lost on a new resident.

SO!

Yes... we have a WELCOME AREA inworld, why not a WELCOME AREA here? It also serves the gentle reminder that new residents should be warmed up to this world from room temperature and nurtured. :)

Great idea. I would be happy to scan it to meet/greet/help whenever I can.

I was just thinking we needed a forum like that. Where walk-throughs such as buying items, finding items in inventory, using attachments, etc were readily available to browse. And even simple tutorials involving making clothes, textures, buidling, etc. Having a New Players forum is a great idea because it encompasses that and more.
