Clean up those avatar shapes

Let me prefix this with an important comment: Currently, the avatars system with tweakable flesh shapes and such is fantastic! And I shouldn't complain, ...

.. But while the devotion to the trueness of the human body reflects excellent detail (!!), there are, however, some flaws. Some errors.

For example, a man's beer belly does not come out at the pelvis area where his zipper is. It comes out from the breast down to the waist. Pants tops come up to the waist BELOW the belly. Currently, the way fat grows on the human in the game, the belly comes out where it would come out on a woman, not on a man.

I say this as an overweight man. I would like to have an avatar that looks like me, but I just scrap the whole "overweight" thing because the femalish belly looks really gay and really gross.

On a(n im)mature note, I also find it disturbing when I see a big "lovehandle" / growth of flesh at the top of the thigh. In the real world, that would look cancerous.

Surely there's more accurate adjective you could use there. Come on, we're not 8 years old here.

I agree with the rest though... In fact, I think there should be SEVERAL avatar shapes to choose from, ones aimed at accomplishing a different range of shapes.

This should also extend to hair -- we should have 5 or 6 different hair models, so that things like really short haircuts, ponytails and the like are better. Yes, that's what There does, but combining the two approaches adds a lot of freedom.

Watch what you call really "gay." It's offensive.

My error was not in using the word "gay" to describe something bad, but to describe how I see "gayness", as in having a distorted sense of gender and sexuality. However, I agree that I made a mistake and did not consider that homosexual people would be here.

pushing this back on topic I agree completely with the need for multiple av types, as of right now it is very difficult to get many shapes and some of the body changes are just strange, I think these should remain in addition to the new changes, my main complaint is there is no cross pollenation of the genders....before people laugh hysterically allow me to explain. If I wanted a bearded lady av, I would have to paint a map vs using the in game slider, if I wanted a hermaphrodite I would have build a prim set of breats etc. There is a lot of fun to be had mixing and matching the two, and there are some men with very effeminate body types and vice versa.

Oh and our joints are TOO BIG! Can we please for the love of god and all that is holy please give us a elbow, knee and ankle scale slider please!! In order to have a comically skinny avatar they have to be extraordinarily tall to make the joints look right and in many cases this is not desirable.

A note on the hair, personally I would like to see some sort of spline handle controls for the shaping of multi segmented flat cards (ie two triangles forming a square, add one more to it etc) this would allow for hair styles that defy reality, gravity and previous notions of what hair should look like in addition to being able to achieve nearly any current hairstyle. Its a hard concept to explain well, one of these days I will have to mock up an example.

Anyway sorry for the unfiltered brain dump.
