Hi,
I start playing SL today but there is something that I'm not sure.
If I bought a premium membership I have 512 sq m of land that I dont have to pay right? but if I want another 512 sq m of land I pay more 5 US dolars right? I say this because I see users with ALOT of sq m and they must pay a fortune #) and the problem is that 512 sq m is not too much land for a house.
Thanks in advance,

You are correct. If you go past what the monthly cost allows then you pay extra. but if you want to build there is the sandbox and some people allow you to build on their land (as long as you clean up afterwards). Or there is space to rent.

Well the sandbox isn't that good because what I build dont last forever there.. the same thing with building in other ppl land. Therefore I think that the prices are extremely high for the quality of the game. I made a premium account and I will play the 7 days to see if this gets better #) because for what I see until now the monthly cost (and above all the price of the land) is extremely high. I already pay $12 month for a MMORPG and at least for what I see until now SL with less than 1024 sq m of land isn't that good and the price is a little exagerated.. Thanks for the quick reply

Also, its not an extra US$5/month for every extra 512. The land-use fees scale down as your land quota goes up.
To offer an example, I carry a 16,384 m2 tier at $75/month. That works out to about US$2.34 for every extra 512. It gets cheaper per m2 the more land you carry.

- Ace Yes I read about that, but paying more than $15 for any kind of game is a little expensive for me (500€ salary #) ) and I really dont think that the game is that good #| well guess I will playing for more 6 days I see all that

You could have done just the one time fee of $9.95 before deciding to own land. that way you still can play just not own land.

Your premium account comes with a 512m base tier. No more additional fees for 512m of land. You will still have to find and buy land, but you wont have to pay extra (beyond your premium fee) per month.
Say your paying US$10 a month for your premium account. If you want more than 512m of land, you will have to "tier up" and pay more per month. The next tier is another 512m for US$5 a month. So, now you have 1024m and pay US$15 per month.
If you decide you want to be here awhile, lump payments for premium account is cheaper, you can pay for three, six, and twelve months in advance in one lump payment. Twelve months is US$72 and works out to US$6 a month. If you do this, there is no monthly fee, but you will hae to continue paying monthly for any land tier above 512m.
Hope that helps.
