In one of my other previous on line experiences there was a feature that allowed one to turn on log. What this did was record all of your chat and save it as a .txt doc to your harddrive. This feature kept the date and time of each chat line.

The feature was also set to either turn it on or off or allow it to remain on to capture all chat information.

While copy and pasting to a notecard is acceptable it does not allow you to copy a lengthy conversation. There is also the problem if you crash or the sim goes down that your chat is lost.

Would it be impossible to have a feature allowing a log to be recorded and saved as a username txt document file within SL program files?

This is such a blatently obvious feature that I can't help but think its omission is an intetional choice by the Linden Lab staff. I'd be curious to hear the specific rationale, though....

Sung to the tune of Sunrise, Sunset from Fiddler on the Roof.

Is this the no-mod prim I copied?
Is this the guy who IM'd me?
I don't remember what the price was!
Why does he?

When did we say we'd have the event?
What was that goddam URL?
Wasn't it yesterday I could remember all?

Log on, log off, log on, log off,
Swiftly flows the chat.

I've wanted this feature for awhile, so YES. I am completly dumbfounded as to why its not already impleneted also.

People can already copy and paste chat from chat history, why not just automate it?

CMON LINDENS this should be in 1.3!!!!!
