Hello Lindens,
In the past, we residents can never charge for any event.... Sure we have the ability to charge for an entrance fee, but no one pays and enters when this is the case. As times are changing (stipends are lowering, dwell is gone, instructor incentive is going) residents will need to begin charging for events and education.
..... but no attendee will pay for admittance fee before they get a chance to see what is happening.
LL, do you forsee in the future an option for land owners along these lines:
Allow an avatar X amount of time on land before being required to pay X dollars
example: an avatar wanders into a club. The club is charging entrance into the event.
That avatar has 3 minutes to sample the land, the party, the event before being required to pay the entrance fee, or else they are removed from the land.
With this 1) the atendee can see what is going on and see if it is worth paying the entrance fee. 2) owners can allow people to see what is happening instead of charging upfront and receiving a complaint later. 3) attendees can make sure it isn't a scam when they are paying, because they can see what is really happening at the event.
sorry if im being confusing in my explanation... but what i'm asking for really needs to happen if us residents can begin charging for events. Land owners need to have an option that avatars can enter for a trial period of time, then asked to pay... rather than always paying up front.
Does LL forsee this option coming anytime soon?
