I have an idea...

how about if, instead of items being deleted from the sandbox on a 12 hour cycle (or whatever the cycle is at that sandbox), items are deleted automatically when the owner of those items leaves the sim. It ought to be a fairly simple process: some even fires when an agent leaves the sim anyway, so it should be possible to identify objects that are owned by that agent that are in a sandbox.

If you allow users to set their parcels to "sandbox", then it would be even more useful than auto-return.

I heartily endorse this sensible sugestion.

I further suggest that if there is a delay, that the time period be something like one hour or less.

i would say the same, maybe a hour or so before its removed, because one of many things could happen if not, like they crash , lose net or anything else ;-) but its a really cool idea

BUilder is working in a sandbox, and has been at it for a number of hours, building a fairly complex build with scripts and everything.

A grid attack shuts down SL, kicking everyone off the grid.

3 hours later, Linden Labs has resolved the problem.. The region restarts, checks the clock, and deletes all 2000 prims.
