Ok.. SO Alot of stuff IW is no Transfer.. I know out of all my 1k+ skins well over 75% of them are no transfer. SO lets say... If I want to go on my alt and prance about being a fool I have to buy that set of skins again. Therefore I suggest somehow LL should link permissions for alternate accounts, therefore allowing us to transfer goods over to them, even if the object/body part/clothing/etc on our main account is NO TRANS. I am not suggesting they have shared inventory, as that wouldn't work if you created an alt for somebody else (family/friend etc). Is this possible? Ideas please

I know alot of ppl will say BLAH BLAH if you want an alt thats your choice BLAH BLAH, I just think if you have an alt, and you have already paid for the stuff on your main account, or another account of yours, that you should have the right to transfer what you like between those accounts. If you catch me drift.

Inventory Management Bonus

I agree Willow! But for me I also would love to allow my alts to hold inventory for me and I can't do that with no transfer objects. I'm currently in the process of deleting and cleaning up 15,000 plus inventory items. I would love to be able to allow one of my alts to hold all my landscaping items, another to hold all my christmas items, etc... But on account of no transfer items only some of my inventory can be stored in that manner.
It would also help Linden Labs tremendously on database storage to not have the same item purchased for all my accounts. I initially began alts to be able to form groups with back when we had to have a minimum of three (for all I know three is still required). Now I use them as pack mules for inventory.
The unfortunate drawback of this would be loss of funds for content creators. Even though I no longer buy multiples of the same outfit or shoes for different alts, others would thereby reducing the creator's profit.
Lost in spring inventory cleaning,
Angel

This sounds like a temporary fix to an issue concerning content creators. They can't allow copy with transfer because that allows their items to be sold by others as if it were their own. That means often no Transfer is the best option for clothing items, because its a big hastle if you only have one copy of an item and want to use it in several places. While It sounds nice, to be able to transfer between alts, I don't know if it's going to be very possible. I would suggest an overahul of the permissions system as the best use of your votes. Why support a minor hack fix of a major permissions problem, when you could put those votes to supporting the total fix? I made a feature suggestion in these forums not long ago, that I think could be revisited as a Feature Proposa if anyone could spare the votes to create it. /13/82/39854/1.htmlFeel free to add your suggestions or rework my idea for a feature proposal.

Willow, how will you discern between two alts of a single person, and a couple who signed in using the same credit card? What about two friends who signed in on the same credit card? Also, should this be something given universally to people, without any extra steps being taken, or should a person have to privately or publicly announce that "X" is an alt, before being permitted to transfer items back and forth?
Also, how do the desires of the customers possibly conflict with the interests of creators in SL, where some may be perfectly OK to sell an item and have it transferred between multiple accounts, while some others might intend that their "no-transfer" item be exactly that....no-transfer?
When "you" buy an item in SL, do you consider it bought by YOU, the user in front of your computer screen, or by "Willow Zander", an account (possibly one of many) that you make use of in SL? If you consider it to be bought by YOU, and therefore should be transferrable between any of YOUR accounts including "Willow Zander", should you be required to provide transparency to the seller and the public? If bought by the user rather than by an account, does the seller or the general SL populace have a right to know who the item is being sold to, or who they're interacting with?

That is what I said in my post, it isn't possible to know really that you aren't just making alts for friends etc. But maybe your main and 1st account can be the only one to be able to transfer things, and I am not saying alts should be public, even tho it really doesn't bother me if they are or not. This is why I put the idea down, I wanted nitpicks, problems and ideas I just HATE having K's of stuff in my inventory that I cannot send to my alt, so I have to spend MORE money to get her to look half decent.

If something like what you propose were to be implemented it might make the entire point of my one alt moot. Testing permissions on stuff I've made.. If the alt can simply grab it, I'd lose the ability to find out if I set security correctly on an item... Racer P.
