It would be great to have a time zone converter in Second Life. I always have the problem to find out in an easy way what time it is in other parts in the world ;P. It would make it easier to plan meetings with my friends. Now I'm always thinking; why don't I ever see this or that person? --> Because they are asleep, working, or having breakfast. It would be an easy to built in application I think.

Joscha, there's an easier solution ( at least in my experience lol ) :
West Coast USA = SL time East Coast USA = SL + 3 hours Europe = SL + 9 hours Try this, you'll get used to it soon enough ![]() Care |

It would be deadly cool to be able to bring up a clock with different time zones, or one with a drop down list for different countries, as well as the difference from SL time in hours (e.g. SLT+ . Maybe a key conbination, that brings up a window like F1 for help? Zap _____________________

Timezone Converter A Great Idea
08-01-2006 08:17
As hard as it might be to believe, Carefree, there are other countries (and even other continents) in the world - like Australia, for example! Or don't we count?
Being a friend of Joscha's, it's a pain always having to try to work out what time it is in Europe (Australian Central Standard Time is currently 7.5 hours ahead of Europe, I believe). With Daylight Savings changes, time differences aren't constant, either. So, I think his idea is very good, as is Zap's suggestion for resolving the problem. |

You know.. someone could totally make this as aHUD attachment that hides until you press a function key which activates a gesture.. blah blah.
Make it, use it, sell it. ![]() _____________________

Timezone software

Qlock, do a search, its free, it allows you to set clocks for places in the world, ie. London = GMT, East Coast of America = GMT -6, etc.
it sits at the top of the screen, very small clocks colour coded with place name day and time. |

I posted this in another thread, but it would be nice if SL did have a timezone converter of its own. As it would allow you to add features like the ability to display to other users (say above your name) YOUR local time, so that they know it's 3am for you and you probably aren't fully awake. Perhaps limiting to friends, but very handy I think, since I'm in the UK, and a lot of friends are all over the place, leads to a lot of confusion.
