Is there a reason for the arbitary limit of 1000 MB for the SL Cache. It seems to be pretty small as most textures in the places I visit often have to be reloaded after just a few hours of exploring elsewhere. Why can't I set a cache size limit up the size of my drive (or even better, up to X MB free)?

The biggest LL's format can support is 2GB without a redesign.

I agree, if the design limit is 2 GB, why can't we use 2 GB? Most people have powerful enough computers that they can handle it.

Maybe the problem is the max bandwith rates will be set over the asked limit (300) some have theirs set at 600.700,800.900 etc. this causes lag in the sim when people sent it higher then 300 as asked by LL. But then again should`nt 1.7 cause this to be outdated? Since it wil allow more users and reduce lag to almost 0?!
