Extra secure locking of prims

An additional secure locking option for prims might be nice. I sometimes accidently delete, or take into inventory, walls or other parts of my builds while fiddling with furniture etc. Then I have to get the dratted things set-up and repositioned all over again.

I know there is a warning for deletion of locked prims at least, but sometimes I OK it before I've realised what I actually had selected.

How about an extra 'double-lock' option that simply will not allow deletion or taking of the object unless the lock is manually removed by unticking the checkbox ?

I know it's at least partially down to lack of experience on my part, but being able to really lock down objects would be reassuring.

This double lock feature should pop up a box (when you try to delete the prims) with options to delete all unlocked prims and another to remove the special double lock and a cancel button.

Just Tell Me What Object It Is!

As a compromise of sorts, could we just have the "Are you sure you want to delete this locked object" box include the NAME of the object?

When I'm messing with furniture and things, it's not at all uncommon for those to be locked. So when I hit delete and see the box, it's nothing out of the ordinary and I hit okay. And delete my house. And don't realize that there's a trash bin for over a week afterwards...... but that's a different story. :P

I want an Undo for "Ooops, where the hell did that prim shoot off to?". :)

Call it "Return Last Prim To Present Galaxy". And the option should be in the client menus, not on the Edit panel ... it's far too late for pressing a button there, the target's long gone. :-(

Just kidding of course, but seriously now, any Undo should apply to the last change you made on a prim, regardless of what it was, and regardless of whether you still have it targetted.

Actually, if Rini's and Tiger's suggestions were already implemented - and I'm surprised that these features do not appear to be there already - then this wouldn't really be so much of an issue - it's the lack of confirmation of what you have selected and then not being able to undo a deletion that makes it all such a dicey business !

...and when I built my skybox I sent a few 40x20 metre plate glass walls hurtling off to some nether limbo by mistake when editing the x-y-z position fields - dunno where they went but if anyone was there it must have hurt, 'ouch' :D

It wasn't necessarily finger trouble at your end either, Dee.

At least until 1.5.3, there was some sort of leakage between spinner fields, so that for example you might type a number in the Y position box, carefully check that it's in the right box and that there isn't hidden junk unseen behind the left and right edges of the box, and then hit return ... only to discover that the data you just entered now appears in the X or Z boxes. Truly annoying. I bug-reported it several times, and described in the forums too.

I don't recall it happening since the last couple of upgrades. I hope it's gone.
