There is no "wav industory association of america" suing companies and individuals for violating their copyright. There is, however an RIAA. Also, they would take up OBSCENE amounts of space. If all 150,000 accounts uploaded only one mp3, it would take up 450,000 megs of space, or 439 gigs. That's just everyone --> one song. Imagine somebody trying to upload their entire music collection via bulk upload. Thanks,b ut no thanks. If you want mp3s, stream them from your own server. _____________________

The other thing I see is if you're going to be cutting them up into 10 second chunks, it won't be much more trouble to convert them to Wav..

Internally it gets converted into OGG doesn't it?
Being able to upload in different formats would be nice but it looks like you're really asking for a removal of the 10 second limit. |
