That would be awesome! I ahve to pieces of property separated by a road, which is owned by the lindenens! :( I wanna connect them by a tunnel underneath! It would be so great if we could do that!

I asked a linden about building underground and I think these are similar ideas. I have a coast lot and can easily build up however I also wouldnt mind a burrow in the face of the cliff. Tunnel option would allow a cave there.. The issue I imagine would be, wouldnt you still need to own the surface land?

yah when i applied for beta i wanted to build underground tunnels and mazes.

You can fake tunnels atm. I've seen some cool caves, underground complexes and hobbit holes along the way.. so its not impossible.

Only short coming with your situation Yegor is ya don't own the land under the road.... you could cheat and build a sky bridge.

I've faked a cave by making a dent in a hillside and inserting a hemisphere with land textures outside, rock inside, but there are limits to how much you can do without making it really obvious from the surface.

My favorite way to do this would be to select a patch of land (perhaps split it off, if that makes it easier to manage), and set it to transparent and phantom, and then build in from there using regular hollow shapes.

That not being an option... what would happen if you made a dark patch with a walk-in sit-hack teleport... could you put the destination in a hollow object underground? (So long as you owned the surface land, and the destination was above the water line?)

I haven't had a chance to try it yet, so I was wondering if anyone else had.

I tried it a few times. I couldn't get it to work. But 'm sure there are thing I haven't tried. The best solution I found was to go up. Making hole in the ground works, but when the map first loads every one can see it, and hole kind of draw attention to them selfs. But going up high. People have to go out of their way to find.
