Before I go to bed I often browse the events to see what's coming up the next day and check notify on those that interest me. Then when I get on the next day, I again go to the events list to see what's coming up and I know there's something I want to attent in an hour or two or three, but I can't remember what it was and it's a real pain to have to go through the list one by one to pick it out again. Is there any way to have a seperate list for events that I've clicked "notify", or perhaps give them some modified icon on the list like a gold star or something instead of the default pinkish one so that they jump out at me. I'm new so forgive me if I've overlooked an existing way to do this. As it is, I guess I will have to keep a pen and paper nearby to write down the times of interesting events (how archaic ).

The whole point of the Notify function is so you don't have to try to remember which ones you wanted to be notified about. 5 minutes or so before the event, a nice reminder pops up (when you are logged in of course) and even gives you the option to teleport right to the event. I use the notify feature for my own events because sometimes I get involved in something and lose track of the time, so it's a nice reminder for me to not be late for my own event The beauty of it is you can just go about your SL day and when the time comes to attend that event, it will tell you.

I think the point is that if you see an event you're interested in, but think you've already added it to your notifications. Having an icon for notified events would let you know that this one was new or that you'd missed checking it off.
Disclaimer: I personally have yet to find an event compelling enough to make me want to go to it.

Maybe I'll have a debate event, and you could MC the event, because you are constantly against anything that anyone says...you seem to always shoot down everyone's thoughts or ideas.
And it does not seem to matter how valid or well thought out an idea is, you will show all the ways why someone's idea is not good enough for you.
I was raised that if you don't have something nice to say don't say anything at all. And even if you have something negative to say, there is a way to say everything so as not to make the other party feel like dirt.
You have a very powerful weapon there, and it would be nice if you buffered it a bit for the sake of others, you are one of the main reasons I really don't post to the forums.

Yes this is a very powerful weapon and we all have the obligation to not rip someone else's ideas to shreads. If Argent feels that events are not compelling enough, maybe they need to check out another type of RPG. SL is about socializing and that includes going to events. -MD

Um, I was posting in favor of Jake Sol's idea. The one you were shooting down. Being able to see at a glance whatever events you have a notification for would be a great tool. It's a great idea, and the notification itself isn't a replacement for it.

yes, I know, but it's the way you say things, you were being condescending to me. I understand what he was saying, I was not shooting down his idea, I was simply saying that the notification function is sort of like a "set it and forget it" thing, thereby letting you go on about your business in SL and then when it's time, it will let you know it's time for an event you were interested in.
You (and many others on these forums) are very rough and abrasive in the way you say things many times, and I see no reason for it.

From: Natasha Armistice I understand what he was saying, I was not shooting down his idea, I was simply saying that the notification function is sort of like a "set it and forget it" thing, thereby letting you go on about your business in SL and then when it's time, it will let you know it's time for an event you were interested in. I think it quite likely that he understood that. Which is why your response looked kind of condescending and even (dare I say it) abrasive to me.
