I've been thinking of these a while.
Sound Proof Walls (no not actually sound) What i want this for is like offices, and stuff. Basically it stops all chat from going through walls. I want a place where i can talk business, and not worry about other people listening in.
Camera Proof Walls Simple enough cameras can't go past'em unless your body is. This will make it so people can actually hold events where people have to pay to see, and can't cheat'em.
(there was some other stuff that i can't think of) but these are the main ones.

will these options be paramters associated with the prims or script commands?
another option for sound could be a ground setting. nobody outside the parcel could hear what somebody inside the parcel was chatting. that would be very convenient for dividing stage areas et cetera.

I would be in favor of having it tied to prims over having it tied to a parcel. The problem with all the parcel settings is that you cannot break your parcel vertically and many structures involve stacked, yet seperated builds. Often times in order to have a nice contiguous build you cannot include 30m of vertical space between the rooms. I think we need a solution that is similar to the way fps engines handle things with hint type brushes that have a flag or texture that the engine recognises as a command ie contain text or whatever, you get the point. This type of system would be infinately more flexible and would solve more than just this issue.
Just my 1.5 cents.

It's a neat idea. But it would probable have to be implemented client side. Witch mean it could be hacked. It would be easer to include masking. Most video games use masking to define a 3D zones inside an area of 3d space.
If properly implemented. Zones could be used to limit visibility, communication, sound, and could even have access controls. Because it is allot less processor intensive, it can be ran server side, meaning it is secure. Plus it allot easer to program.
