Sure, and how about this:

A FORCED COUNTDOWN MODE

For those times when SL gets too addictive. Once started, it cannot be overriden, and you are soon automatically logged out, with a polite message (of your choosing) sent to those whose company you have just departed.

I wouldn't mind this, maybe put it in your profile, you could have two different things "Total Time Spent on SL" which is a addition of every hour you spend added up and keeps counting, and "Time Spent Today".

Wouldn't have to be in your profile, could be put in something only you see clientside. ActiveWorlds had something like this in your personal settings for your profile that only you saw, it would show you how much total time you've spent.

A countdown clock would be interisting. There are probably other programs out there that will auto do this, I have a program called Kana Reminder, it doesn't shut down programs but it does load them up and you can even set it to shut down your machine etc.

Just please, please, PLEASE - no leaderboard for time spent online. <boggle> I'm way too competitive for that little feature. :p

It would be nice to see an average per week, though. I tend to underestimate the amount of time I actually do spend online...

I just remembered this, if anyone is dieing to see how much time they spend in SL, I suggest downloading that X-Fire IM thingy, as well working for lots of other games and seeing what games your friends are playing, it also works for SL and will show you how many total hours you've spent in it.

However it only works while X-Fire is loaded up, and you can only see the hours from your profile. So its no replacement for this feature by any means... just something you could use for now if you really need to.

www.xfire.com

This is by no means meant to be an ad... even though it is. Sorry. :P

This can be scripted to a reasonable degree of accuracy. =)
