Prop 472: Log in with no notification to freinds.

I propose that there be a check box or the like on the log in screen that would allow a person to log into SL without the automatic notification to all persons with whom you have exchanged 'friends' card being notified that you're online.

In my humble opinion it would, on occasion, be convenient to have this modicum of 'privacy' to be able to work on a build, explore, or simply take care of some other business without having to explain to friends and associates that you're 'unavailable' even though you've just come in world.

Feedback, comments, suggestions welcomed.

This has been discussed before. The general concensus, I think, was an invisible mode of this form would not be a bad idea, provided avatars still show up normally both in-world and on the radar.

In the meantime, the best current way to log in thusly is to get an alt.

You're right to suggest that this was discussed before, but I believe that it was worded poorly and was immediately shot down because of the use of the word 'invisible'.
There were a lot of people that didn't 'get' what the previous Prop was about and simply had fits because they didn't want to have people 'peep' on them when they were doing things.

I'm not suggesting that anyone be able to do anything of the sort.
I'd simply like to be able to log in without having a dozen people 'glomp' me when all I wanted to do was work on my house/edit land/explore new areas because they received a notice that 'Rufus Varmint' has logged in'.

I simply want to log in without it notifying anyone that I've done so.

I am therefore rephrasing the Proposition and seeing what kind of reaction it gets.
I guess that I *could* create an alt now that LL is 'giving away' new account this week, but I'd simply like that option to turn off notification when I felt like it.
