As I understand it, Havok uses skeletal and real-time animations for stuff like ragdoll physics right? Just curious if implimenting a new Havok system could mean voiding all current animations as they are essentially pre-recorded videos. Is this one of the reasons behind the delays? A feature/feedback request I have is actual explainations of why a feature has yet to be implimented, rather than the simple 'we're working on it', or just letting it sit in the forums. It's not that the response will make the project go any faster but I feel it would calm those that continue to ask again and again, believing that the coders are merely being lazy, or don't care (like me and my Quake maps ). I remember asking in an older post about changing the cache size and right after my post I got a response saying exactly why it hasn't been touched yet - That currently editing UI options requires massive world code adjustments. It is answers like that, happening more often, that I am requesting. - Jolan

New havok implementation would probably not include ragdoll physics. It's not be anymeans necessary that they use ragdoll when upgrading to a new havok.

I believe that I have read somewhere that they would NOT include ragdoll physics in the Havok 2 implementation. There is a wiki entry on what would and would not be included in the Havok 2 engine upgrade and I believe it stated this... See this link: http://secondlife.com/badgeo/wakka.php?wakka=Havok

Animations use a standard file format(bvh) that is used pretty extensivly in motion capture. I seriously doubt Linden Labs will discontinue support for the bvh format.
