I would like to suggest an option on the general game pie menu called rez now that would allow you to click on a prim and have the textures for that prim loaded and displayed before others in the area. This would allow you to see the things you want to see now instead of waiting minutes for some sign or texture in a store to rez after all the others you weren't as concerned about.

It seems to be a little known secret in SL, but if you hold your cursor over a prim face, that texture will load faster.
