I was just attempting to code an alert system for a game that I am working on. Where it be beneficial to play an alert sound to the Player's HUD to indicate that its their turn to act, without having to disturb anyone else around the game. I found out that huds do not have the ability to play sounds which I found quiet disapointing. Basicaly, llPlaySound and such placed in a HUD script should only affect that user and no one else near you should be able to hear a sound played within the HUD attachement your using.

It would be nice seeing such feature implemented soon! I believe it would open alot of nice positive posibilities in scripting gaming devices. Please give me feedback fellow scripters! Thanks.

There's this schizophrenia simulator called Virtual Hallucinations, one of the first builds I ever visited in SL. I thot back then how much more terrifying it'd be if you entered with several friends, wearing what we now know as HUDs, and each hears a different set of sounds (doesn't make sense that everyone would hear the same thing).

I can definitely see uses for this...

BTW, kewl SL name. :)

Ooo I didn't know that. So who's making HUDs that do this right now?
