From: SuezanneC Baskerville Proposal: Incorporate LSL Wiki based help into script editor Good idea, but we could build a wiki in SL if we had a few other basic things that people want. Persistent storage of notecards, or some such, is the main thing. A customizable user interface is another, but we could get by with what we have.

I approve this feature and/or service. I think the Wiki should also be chopped down into a .chm file every major patch so it can be accessed offline.

What i really want is to be able to use an alternate editor seamlessly integrated into the SL scripting environment. The SciTE-ez text editor is vastly superior to anything we can expect the SL programming staff to come up with, for the good reason that they have better things to spend their time on like 3D VR stuff - but I think that it would be possible for them to make the seamless integration of external editors possible with very little work. My suspicion would be that either copying the text of the script along with the error code and location of a syntax error to the clipboard would be sufficient, users could could take it from their and make SciTE-ez open a file with the cursor at the error location and the error flagged in some way. Alternately the same info could be written to a file on the user's hard drive.
In world help is fine, but I use two monitors and can have an external text editor appear on the entire second monitor, with fonts and other preferences of my own.
I can already do this, but it is awkard dealing with syntax errors and cutting and pasting back and forth all the time.
