Perhaps it would be possible to not display events hours after they are over?
Maybe give the event holder a way to indicate the event is finished so the system doesn't have to waste time transmitting largely useless information?
Or if it's past the start time plus twice the duration ( to allow for delays ) then don't show the event in the list?

There's a purpose in archiving past events... shows a whole history of what's happened, and allows me to link to them too should I want to reference. For example, this is the first event I ever attended in Second Life: http://secondlife.com/events/event.php?id=14272&date=1095307200If a Resi wants to hide past events, they can click on the UPCOMING radio button.

It took me til 2 days ago to figure that one out when I once again could not get a next page button on find in the events.... Glad to know it's not just be who didn't think to click that

Glad to know it's not just be who didn't think to click that I had to dig for that too... and I notice you have to press Upcoming, THEN push Search. It's not consistent behavior considering that checking and unchecking the Mature box works right away. Hmmm.

From: Joy Honey isn't that what bugs are? features? Hehehe. Yeah, if I can find an upside to them, like the invisiprim hack that makes for fancy high heel shoes. This is just clunkeh!

I was talking about the inworld events list, not the one on the website. I hardly ever look at the events listing on the website, I don't know why, since I have the website open all the time. The Upcoming option on the inworld Events list removes the ones that are currently in progress, doesn't it? Thus making it useless for picking out which event you want to go to even though it's already started. The reason to remove the events that are over from the inworld events list is to reduce the load on whatever part of the system is delivering it. If its the same machine that is delivering textures, streaming the map, or any other chronically slow operation it could use all the pruning of it's task list possible.
