One of the things that has always puzzled me is that the user is unable to directly set the rotation of an attachment. Can't be done by script or in the edit window. Why i can't fathom. Now i'm a bit of a perfectionist; ok a huge one.
Now I would be sympothetic to the answer that the data isn't available or that the data isn't meaningful IF it weren't for the fact that llGetLocalRot() returns meaningful information about the root prims in attachments.
So when I say I can't fathom why this feature is missing I have good reason.

Now that i'm done being snippy.

*on knees*
can we please have it :D

I would endorse this feature if it were practical, but methinks the logic on this one is a lot of the avatar calls are client-side, with the exception of initial attachment loads and others. At least, that's my guess, as it would also explain why it's pretty difficult/impossible to call a local position vector as well. :o

There is, however, a solution that I could show you in-world to this problem involving llSetTextureAnim. The catch is it needs to refresh every so often or it loses synch for large objects.

By way of edit: I take the "client side for many" comment back, because I realize that ain't right. Buuut, position and rotation vectors may just be, for their own reasons.
