First of all: Hi everybody ^^, Second let me get to the point...everybody who wants to upload sounds has to face the 10 second limit, wich becomes rather annoying. 10 seconds isnt very much at all...id like to see more than that. i dont see the point of having a 10 second limit to reduce server load...what people do is simply cut their fav song into a dozen small pieces and then puzzle them back together. i havent checked yet, but i could imagine thats ends in being bigger than simply uploading the full song at once, let alone being a pain in the ***. the only thing i can imagine is that it scares of people, so that less people upload enitre songs. My suggestion would be to have a total limit instead of a 10 second upload limit...so you could have something like 10 minutes alltogether regardless of how small or big the single sounds are...maybe let premium users have more. or at least allow more than 10 seconds...maybe a minute, wich still wouldnt allow songs but would be alot easier to handle than 10 seconds other suggestions are welcome^^ cu in sl

I believe the 10 second limit is in place to prevent SL from getting sued by people who don't like digital copies of music.

but to reply...people STILL upload entire songs...so thats not really working.....and then a 60 second limit would still be too small for most songs, still preventing the song upload so to speak

There's a gigantic difference between that and uploading an entire song. And 60 seconds would be illegal.

And 60 seconds would be illegal. Most of the time, 10 seconds is also illegal. In the United States, there's no "magic number" below which it isn't copyright infringment. Other countries may have other rules.
