When trying to run a successful, lag-free SIM, I've often found people don't understand how textures work. For example, my lovely better half Jennyfur was using 1024x1024 texture graphics for her item boxes that were 2 meters x 2 meters wide in world. Clearly, a 256x256 would suffice. I'd like a mouse over option - or a right click option - "get texture info". This would list all textures used in an object / prim (just by name, not another rip-able security hole <grin> , the width and height, and the size in MB. This would allow us to tweak our textures for a combination of speed and appearance instead of flying bling. Example: OBJECT CASTLE TOWER Castle Stone Wall - 256x256 - 0.345 megs Stone Floor Cobblestone - 256x256 - 0.425 megs Railing - 256x128 - 0.323 megs Medieval Tapestry Picture - 512x512 - 1.234 megs Something like this would REALLY be handy, especially for store and club owners trying to figure out what's chewing up all the bandwidth. Regards, -Flip

PS - this option should work on other's peoples' objects as well, as its a read only option. When I was a bit more green behind the ears, I didn't realize I had textures - not even viewable - on the bottom sides of prims, and such. These had to be loaded even though they were never seen... by anyone!

-Flip
