I think that this is the main downfall of teleporting. I dont know if it does but it seems like something like this should lag the servers big time if it has to save all your attachments every tiem u teleport thats a lot of load on the servers if a lot of people teleport. Also Furries seem to be gettign th e butt end of this as most furry avatars are prim heavy, and at that it takes forever to save our attachments and its killing us because its hell to try and teleport. I for one have discovered that if i detach everything but my head, one by one, and then switch sims i can teleport but this is a pain to go though every time i want to teleport. I think that the Save Attachments feature should be killed.

From: Raemus Patel I think that the Save Attachments feature should be killed.
As I understand it, this is a necessary step in stopping the "black hole hoochie hair" effect that was prevelant before 1.6 (each attachment is being saved as a single drawable so your 500 prim hair has less effect on me when you teleport into my sim). I would much rather have to wait for my attachments to be saved then to go back to the days when somebody's hair attachment could render my computer useless.

From: Raemus Patel black hole hair? What was that bug? i never had it happen to me. Imagine 40,000 triangles being rendered on the fly on your screen. That's hoochie hair. Now imagine that times 20 people. 2 FPS, woo It was much worse in 1.5.

I was under the impression that only scripted attachments are supposed to be saved on teleports nowadays. BUT... I only have 2 attachments at this point (neither scripted) and it shows them being saved when I teleport... Go figure. Racer P.
