An increasing number of scripters with me included are begining to face a new kind of a problem: When we use grid-wide distributed systems such as vendors that use a pure LSL implementation rather then an external web server, we face the problems of having a server that needs a fixed, static key that our clients can address.
Objects keys, by nature, are not very static. If the object is accidently deleted, taken into inventory, or move regions - its key will change, potentialy bringing your entire distributed network down.
What I would like to suggest is a fixed-key redirection "alias".
The concept is that you will be able to assign a certain static key that will act as an alias to an object. If the object has its key changed, you can update the alias to point at the latest version of the object, thus not breaking your network.
