It can happen in RL too. How many times has a friend popped over at a bad time? Your friends are most likely know where you hang out anyway. Privacy seems to be a real concern and some sort of "invisible" mode might not be a bad thing, it would lessen the possibility of your scenerio. But, suppose your invisible on the map and a complete stranger drops in while exploring only to find you in a compromising position.

Use the property banning at times you require privacy, if they dont get the message and try to get at you anyway, cancel their calling card. People that dont have your cards wont know where you are. Those that cant respect your wishes for privacy dont deserve your calling card.

Yes, I asked this at a previous Town Hall -- we are on the same thoughtline, wuvme. However, I do not advocate full taking away of the "Map..." mode -- rather, a temporary option to hide it would be welcome, along with the "Set Away" and "Set Busy" there could be a "Set Hidden" mode.

At least it's an option.

Simple and clean.

Another idea thats been around for awhile, "Invisible" or some such mode.

I endorse it if implemented wisely.

It'll never happen, because Huns will accidently fly into you, apparently. At least, that seemed to be the main 'against' point last time.

this was brought up a year ago and hooted and yelled down by people who 'liked' stalking their friends...

another interesting idea would be having a 'privacy' setting on your land, where people in it (or at least in the group/or the owner) wouldn't show up at all as a green dot on the map... to help stop the 'curiosity' factor of people tryin to see where the dot is. alot of people don't realize if yer >200m chances are *REALLY* good you don't want to be disturbed, whatever you may actually be doing (most of us have work-boxes up there where its alot less laggy and theres a few less distractions when yer building)
