Okay since I'm not well connected in world I thought I'd post this here first.
My idea is for a manequin object, or basically a scriptable CPU avatar. At the very least I'd be interested in an object that could have BVH animations applied to it. Something that could in essence make scripted object animation smoother and less dependent on set rotation and set position commands.
Speciffically, as a potential game designer, I'm looking at making a turn based combat game with a summoner class and having a collection of liquid movement summon creatures is more desirable than a few facial expressions and particle effects.
I envision the object simply as a skeleton which, as any other object, can be hidden or shown as the case requires (I'd imagine it to be hidden more than not but for editing purposes I expect something that's just hidden would be easier to clean up if left about). However, like avatars, it would have multiple attach points. After all Halloween only lasts so long so skeletons would lose the novelty quickly. Perhaps not as many attachments so as not to induce resource overloads of course.
It's a thought, and one I think SL could benefit from in development. Static manequins to dot clothing and accessory stores, AI guides in-world, and of course the pets and creatures for games or simply for entertainment.

there's a lot of thing is wrong with that... but I'll just say one of them.
Naked manequin avatars all over the sandboxes...
Although it's good idea, but I'd suggest putting a fee to have a created manequin avatar for 2,000L$ each. Why 2,000? cause that'll make it seem like only business people like me can afford it for reasonable use instead of some easy made newbie account who may have no idea what to do with a manequin. You know how easy newbies can create group for 100 each? Too easy.
Seem very good idea for business/game use but for the love of god, not for porno stuff, this idea can be abused too easily.

I didn't want to venture into creation price or the like because the logistics of the economy are lost on me but yes I agree limits would have to be in place.
And I was never saying anything about porno, although if someone wanted to go through the work and didn't use it to upset other people I can't say I'd have a problem with it.

Why not hire Basic Account holders to log in and ride a one-prim transparent vehicle wearing the skins and attachments your game requires? You can hire a Basic for as little as L$10-15 an hour, you know. This would be a great alternative to camping holes, put money back into the economy, promote employment... and LL doesn't need to do anything!

As it's possible that they leave and your game is now lacking an NPC, you could instead set up the same system, minus the payment, and add -multiple to your client shortcut on some unused PC (who cares how good the FPS is) and run X copies and make X accounts where X is the number of NPCs you need. Sit them down on your NPC vehicles and viola, free NPCs and all it took was a computer that can barely run SL. Only problem might be is if one of the clients crashes or the whole machine explodes. (Client crashing is hard to fix, as the PC doesn't have enough memory left to want to attempt to re-run it, and it takes about 10 minutes to get your NPC back into the "chair" . Another advantage is your NPCs can be named whatever you want them to be named.Though in all honesty, I would like to see completely dummy prim-like manaquins instead.

From: Argent Stonecutter Then they don't get paid, and one of the other people waiting to get the money takes their place. There is still "lag time" from one person leaving and another taking their place. It is VERY VERY uncommon for "extras" to stand around waiting for a chair (why stand here earning nothing when there's an open chair somewhere else?). I know of one place it happens--well, used to know, I haven't been able to find where they are now as the guy's moved again--but it was because the chairs were infinite time (no kick, idle out, or idle check) that paid L$2 every 5 minutes. The other reason people hung around was that if someone crashed (or the sim crashed) the people in the chairs would not be paid and the earned amount would reside in the chair for whoever sat down next. Very crappy chairs and the owner / scripter refused my repeated requests to change them. Oh, and he was incredibly rude about it too.

You can "promote" a less-important NPC to a more-important position. You can have low-paid "background" NPCs who can be moved in to fill the spot (stick your standbys there).

Wow, impressive. A few too many prims IMO (he's almost more detailed than an actual avatar).
