Perhaps I'm just missing something here, but is there ANY way to get SL to organize textures aside from alphabetically on the pull-down menu? I'm not talking inventory... but when you select a prim, and change it's texture, you get this big garish pulldown menu that's arranged alphabetically of EVERY .tga file in my inventory. Now, I have alot of textures... I really don't like clicking through all of them to find the one I want.
Couldn't there be a different way of selecting textures for a prim/prim side? Sort it by folders or something. I'm kinda sick of scrolling through my photo album trying to find a texture, though.

I agree. But, you can find the pic in your inventory and drag it to your prim to change. Not ideal, but its another way.

Well I rename my textures, and I put an identifying letter in front of it (A - linen texture, C - Hickory planks, M - Red barrel tile) you get the idea. Then all of the similar textures are in order. I put an X - in front of all snapshots so they are at the bottom of the list. Then before texturizing a build I go thru them (in inventory mode) and put a * in front of each consideration so they appear at the top of the list when I am ready to apply them.

And while we're making texture related wish lists, it'd be REAL NICE if the inventory had wee texture thumbnails. I hate having to constantly grind through all my textures looking for the right one.

I'd really like a working palette of textures. I end up using a small set of textues for a particular build, and it would be helpful to have them seperated for easy access. Of course, a flexible texture organizer would allow you to this for yourself, for instance by putting the textures for a build into one folder.
But as a stopgap measure, perhaps the texture list could simply be sorted by last use?
(Good thinking, Pituca)
