Oh, how I wish that I could shove stuff back over the border when it is overlapping my land. Someone can leave a big piece of junk that overlaps my land, intersecting my house and bushes etc., and I can't do a thing with it as long as most of it is on the lot next door. All you can do is IM the junk owner and the lot owner and wait, and that can be a long wait.

yep, and sometimes ya gotta burn it!!

thats happened to my neighbors Bo and Lily recently, we have a cool but busy neighbor who has some great gadgets and stuff but one of his planes was sticking way over the line into lilys garden, it was pretty annoying due to the size of it, the best we could do was burn the plane!!

daz, that's great! but oh the humanity!
Barbarra, we occasionally had the same problem with people building in the sandbox next door in Natoma. I solved that by putting up a hedge on the border so builders could see the property line and not accidentally slop over. Good fences make good neighbors! _____________________

Not sure how the community feels about this - but what I'd absolutely *love* to solve this problem:
--Allow Landowners to *move* any object that sits on their land, regardless of owner. If this were in place, not only would I think it would solve Barbara's problem, but it would solve another problem of mine: Frequently, I allow people to use my roof and back area as a sandbox. I also keep a freebie area where people can give & take items. Often times, people leave objects that are in a bad spot - but I don't want to return them either. If I could just re-position them, and move them where they're supposed to be, I could leave the objects intact rather than returning them. |

What about trees? The land next to me was bought and is used for prim space. Recently they added some trees and the tops are hanging over onto my land. The tree trunks of course are in their area, but the tops are in my space. I guess I wouldn't mind so much, except for the fact that they made the land next to me available to them only and all I see is a nice red no entry barrier. Lord forbid I might accidentally walk onto their prim space or try to edit something of mine and get knocked back.

i dunno if it still works, because I havent tried it since about 1.3, but it actually is/was possible to move even non physical objects minutely by firing high powered projectiles at it. I used this to move a neighbors build off my land just as you describe, since neither the Lindens nor he would do anything about it
![]() I wouldn't necessarily encourage firing missiles at your neighbors stuff at a rate of hundreds an hour until it gets bumped a few meters over... I'm just telling you its possible ![]() |

But the problem would still be, if most of the object isn't on your land, it doesn't show up as on your land, so you wouldn't be able to move it, even if we had the ability to move objects on our land...

It's not considered "over his land". If it were he could delete it or return it. So adding permission for him to move stuff over his land wouldn't help in this case. _____________________

If someone's stuff overlaps your land, you can ask a Linden to remove it. Or at least that used to be the case. I would contact the owner first, but if they are nonresponsive, contact a Linden.

Hrm.... You're absolutely right... this wouldn't help in this case
Still would be nice to have the feature to move objects on your own land though ![]() |

What about trees?

Is there a Linden enforced policy which forces a tree removal/relocation if the tops overhang but not the trunk isn't on your property? Anyone have experience with this? _____________________
