Why are cloud particles emissive?

In the attached image you can see the very stark contrast between my own non-emissive cloud vehicle (pictured center) and the standard SL clouds at night.

Why are the cloud particles emissive? Do we have a highly radioactive atmosphere?

I propose making clouds non-emissive for a more realistic night-time environment. :)

That is curious. I am also wondering how clouds can so readily pass through solid metal walls... I would like to see this addressed too. :)

Clouds and mists are just prims, so they will pass through whatever they please, even solid walls :(. I agree though that it's annoying and not realistic, and would like to see it stop. My home has lots of windows, and the idea of looking out over a foggy day from safe inside pleases me immensely! Right now, though, a foggy day means fog everywhere...

Did you secure all windows and vents? ;)

The clouds are reflecting moon light that's allready been reflected from the sun, we do have constant full moons.
