i realize that many (most?) people who are in SL have a true passion for this world, for what it has to offer... and they're right. SL has amazing potential...so much so that people keep writing to the Lindens, asking for improvement and features, regardless of the difficulties they experience and would probably not tolerate from other companies.

i never really spoke out before because i thought of myself as a newbie (still am, in many ways). but as things start to go wrong on the private sim i'm a member of and care deeply about, i start wondering who backs up this mutual fantasy we all call SL? if it's so priceless to all of us, from creator to inhabitant, why is it so hard to find out what is the best way to reach help?

guess what i'm trying to say is...dreaming and building an amazing new world is remarkable, but how do you ensure this dream lasts if it's not based on solid support when things fall apart? this should be the very basis of the relationship with SL/LL. i don't care if i'm part of a private sim, owner of public land, or just linger around. there should be clearly defined ways to reach assistance.

getting help should NOT be about how many Lindens i know personally or how many i can *ahem* blackmail into coming to save me and the sim that's having problems.

for whatever's worth, i wanted to get this out there. certain basic things do need to change....sooner rather than later. if i didn't have the best intentions and wasn't grateful for what has already been accomplished, i wouldnt even bother to waste time putting all this in writing. i'm just saying that we all have a long way to go, and that some changes really need to happen at the root of the issues, before other good things can be enjoyed in their full capacity.
