I can build a castle, mass-select the whole build, and COPY or TAKE it as one object into inventory. When I drag it from inventory back to ground, there it all is, just as it was originally.

However, when I have a SCRIPT rez it to ground, it's all twisted and mangled and displaced. Why? Shouldn't the script at least have an option to rez an item to ground exactly as I rez it to ground from inventory?

So rather than using ultra-complex and time-consuming devices such as Rez-foo or Rez-faux (and thank goodness for such things or we'd all be lost)... why not just have the scripting system do it right to start with? When a script rezzes an object to ground, it would be very nice to have that object fully rezzed with all prims and child objects in the same relative position / rotation as they were when the item was picked up. That would make it so simple to sell and install large builds. :)

when you use llRezObject it has a rotation element to it, so have to look at each part and see how it needs to be rezzed, and then put that rotation in the llrezobject for each part you are rezzing.

If you put ZERO_VECTOR, it will rez the root prim of the object at default rotation, which is most likely your problem. So need to know the proper rotation for each part to rez it out at the correct rotation.

llRezAtRoot :)

ps ~ it was sorta broken and probably still is, but I think as long as you don't get too tricky, it can work for this.
