Yesterday when I logged in, I was getting popup errors relating to triggering perms literally every half second, which was having the effect of slowing my client, as well as being downright bloody annoying.
The thing is, that now that these errors are given in IM/popup form, we have absolutely NO idea what the hell it refers to.
I have, quite literally, hundreds of objects inworld it could be, spread across dozens of sims, and no way to determine what it is or where it is that is doing it.
Even with IM going to chat and looking at the object to mute it didnt help - it just gave me the name 'object', since it only tells you the piece in the linked set that the script resides in.
When it was in chat, you had a fighting chance of locating the offending object. Now you have none, and the thing is probably still going off excepting that I've muted it.
So I would really really like if (a) the message included the Sim and coordinates of the object, and perhaps the object name. And (b) A timeout or something would be pretty cool.. so if you get the same message a couple thousand times like I did that it doesnt drive you f*cking insane!!!

Kris is a nice guy, i think it would be silly to loose him over such a minor thing.

1)I'm with Kris on this one. We definetly need more info on where this data is coming from. Thats how it is when your access to program objects is limited by actuall distance in 3D space. 2)Strife, what the heck did you smoke.

Not to derail my own feature suggestion, but I'd like to suggest breast wobble as a new one

You'll need Havok 2 (or 3) for that. As for whatever the heck this thread was about... I was thinking that a new feature of the whole chat/IM system could be right-clicking a line of text to get info on who/want said it. If it's an object, it can give you its location. If it's an error, it can even give you a Teleport button to go right to it. As a right-click, it won't add even more spammish text to the screen, and would allow for increased functionality later. Like if you wanted to mute someone/something, right-click something they/it said and choose Mute.

I vote NO for this features. As it would make too much sense to implement....
