This is certainly not a new idea, but a very obvious one and one which I confidently feel would benefit the future of SL. I am aware already that on large-scale projects within this metaverse, obviously, collaboration needs to take a number of forms. Email addresses out-of-world are often exchanged, Groups are formed within SL, and various procedures need to be taken to get everyone "on the same page, working together" as I have heard it called. We already know SL has 3D collaborative building. This is a given. So... what about 2D?  As in, a prim that could be configured into a realtime whiteboard not unlike that used with several popular IM programs, and simple 2D painting capabilities. It would be very handy for sketching out quick plans, even spelling out some ideas and making a sign (with a text image tool or somesuch thing), not to mention quick touchups of textures. A giant whiteboard could stand next to a project in progress, and notes could be left on it and modified accordingly as time goes on. Chromal Brodsky has created a very cool pixelboard that publishes to the web. It is low-rez but a very fun tool. Would anyone else enjoy seeing this whiteboarding? |

Damn, that's a really good idea...
Add in a color pallette, and you could give basic textures to prims on the fly.
I really hope this gets implemented...
