Every time I log in to SL, I do the following things:

* Turn on my Camera Controls
* Turn off the clouds
* Turn on "High Noon" sun.

Every time.

Would be nice if these things were toggles. Once on, they stay on until told to turn off. There are likely many other controls that would work better as toggles with memory.

In regard to camera/view, there are two things that would be especially handy, and might event be put as a permanent fixture on the upper toolbar/menu area:

* Have the "camera control" as an embeddable option in the top bar area, to get it off the screen (and with an adjustable "speed"... sometimes that control jumps so quickly and in such large incredments it become unwieldy).

* Place a "Draw Distance" button area, offering instant change of draw distance to 64/128/256/512. It seems people change draw distance constantly and rather than clicking EDIT / PREFERENCES / ADVANCED GRAPHICS / 128 / OK, it would be so much more user friendly to just click a radio button on the main screen and there you have it. : )

In truth, there may be many such features that would be better set in a drop-down menu. Click a tab, lots of options that are either checkboxes or buttons, and the system retains those choices even after logoff, and until they are later changed. Would make the user interface much easier to use. :)

Brilliant. Bloody brilliant.

But it should apply to any menu item that can be checkmarked as well. IE: 'only my objects' in the tools menu is my personal peev having to reselect it every login.

Yes....labeled Preferences

Ha...I'm here in the forums tonight to ask for just this feature!

When I go to a crowded venue I usually turn my draw distance way down, turn auto streaming on (for live music events) and a few other things to improve performance as much as possible.

It would be great to invoke these preferences and return back at the press of a button or two. Or perhaps a pulldown menu where I can label and choose different "modes"....Live Music Mode, Exploring Mode (for longer distances), etc.
