Enable video and music on HUD attachments that only can be seen/heard by the user that the HUD is attached to, for example with new LSL functions llSetHUDMusicURL, llHUDMediaQuery and llHUDMediaCommandList. This would make the multimedia functions much more useful as the current version where you have to own land is pretty restricted.

You know, you might be on to something here. Folks could pass around "audio/video objects" to view media within the SL client instead of copying and pasting URLs into another program. It would be nice to, say, allow an SL DJ to put up a dispenser of "walkmen" that would let each user listen to his/her stream without having to stay on a certain plot of land or open up an audio app.

What'll eventually be kewl is if SL will support the onboard additional processes aboard soundcards like Sound Blaster. Like you know, you can filter the music to sound all swishy, or murky if you dive underwater... things like that make a YUGE difference.

Personaly I prefer the Music over Video... I rarely play videos anymore
I do however listen to my radio station alot and would rather not have to devote system resources to an outside application to play it when SL already has the capibilities.
Audio and Video play cliant side anyway. Just add a tab in our profile for media prefrences.
and as always have it with the ability to turn it off so the picky ppl dont complane that its lagging there system...

Only thing I can see it may have conflict with is Land media

HOLY CRAP YOU GUYS READ MY MIND!!

I think this is the 1st time I've ever searched the forums and found the EXACT thing I was looking for!!!

I have all these ideas about things I wanna do in my SL future cuz right now Ive got the free account and no money to spend on upgrading and building things...so its all just planning and preperation. But that would be EXACTLY what I'd need for one of my ideas! I mean people are selling iPods (Ive got an ipod video, but its strapped to my belt for show...along with my cell phone lol) and if we could make them stream internet music, that'd be awesome!! I think alot of people would like that, probably alot more than being somewhere where the land owner is playing his music and your forced to listen to it wheather you like it or not, and the only way to not listen is either turn off your sound or leave his property and go somewhere else!

So when I get more votes (cuz I already used all mine today...do they refresh everyday?? I hope so :\ ) they're all going to Prop: 688!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
