I once read that the SL website is PG in nature. I knew somehow the little box with the last 10 items thing was going to break that rule somehow... I just logged in and I saw a couple of items like: Pleasure toy - Clit, and of the likes.

I'm no puritan. heh. I'm even in favor of AV sex. But, if LL wants to hold on to its own standards...

I don't even understand the actual use of the information on the box. I it doesn't give me any real indication of frequency of purchase, nor quantity, sometimes not even nature.

I could suggest, for example, that this be replaced with current stats about object sales broken into categories. For example, it would be good to see: "Last weeks stats: 10% Furniture 40% Clothing 30% Animation 5% Textures 10% Vehicles 5% Makeup" or something like that.

One way it could be implemented is by having a category drop down box forced to be selected if the object is to be transferrable. I know that's not a complete solution and that it's not as simple as saying, but I do think it's helpful.

What do you think?

add them up and we have

2The 2difference 2between 2me 2and 2you = 0

2(The difference between me and you) = 0

The difference between me and you = 0/2

The difference between me and you = 0

I never thought we were so similar

Looks like a lot of gamblers in SL

I'm not sure what it actually indicates (whether it is the sale of gambling apparatus or the use of the items once it is in operation) but it seems that half of the items being sold are gambling related.

I have attached a pic of some random times I have logged on over the last week and have concluded we have many gamblers here or many would be casino owners.

I can't conceive that gambling is that popular to support this many casinos, but then I rarely gamble in SL casinos, so I could be wrong.

I'm not a big fan of this feature.

Even though it doesn't name the people involved, it still seems a bit invasive to me.

This is a stupid needless feature, let's get rid of it.

It is very easy to use the ten most recent transaction list to attract attention to a product using scripts and this means that the computers that should be making our virtual world are being diverted to creating object or monetary transactions. I know it's easy because I did it myself just as a demonstration.

The SLexchange and SecondServer sites both claim that transaction data will not be made public but transactions made through these services would show up in the list and thus the transactions are not kept private as claimed.

To who? It sounds like you just want to hide the naughty bits of SL from the public, like we're all ashamed of it or something.

If the 10 recent items bought in SL were clit rings, well, why can't we show that? It's an 18+ world, after all.

If you don't want SL to know that we're all running around virtually banging each other, don't buy those products, or better yet, make them more "unoffensive" named.

Well, that's not really my scene, but if others want to buy things like that, I have no problem with it.

However, I feel that whatever I buy, whether it be SuperClit 2000!!! or Neon Blue Hoverboard, is nobody's business but mine and the sellers'.

I'm just a big fan of privacy. I may only be watching CNN in the living room, too, but that still doesn't mean I want you looking in my windows. :)

It's not invading anyone's privacy any more than CNN having a news story on the "new toy of the month" for Christmas. If you bought a tickle-me-elmo, and CNN reported that "40 million americans bought a tickle-me-elmo this year", would you feel that your privacy has been invaded?

I could understand if a person's name was posted along with it, but it's not. It's free advertising for the vendor, and it just shows SL residents what everyone's buying.
