ok, this wouldn't be an urgent update for sl, but i think it would be interesting to have...
If there was a way to perhaps make a script that when an object is interacted with or ttouched, it takes control of your avy and your camera, moving it around in wotever way.
EG: you buy a 'wedding ring' for someone, you pull it outta your inventory, set it on the table and click it. the camera spins around sideways slightly looking up at the 2 people proposing with their animatiosn etc. it then spins around the couple a bit and a few particle lovehearst fly outta them and then the camera returns to the normal view.
perhaps the script could control camera movements with xyz positions or somthing?

Alan! Good idea. I've been in enthusiastic favor of "virtual webcams" and whatnot within SL for some time. Even multiple, LOCKED angles to view your avatar would be great, as has been suggested by giants before my time. For example, There has a "mirror mode" in which you can view yourself walking down a path -- but if you try to do the same thing in SL, the camera will spring upwards and outwards, cancelling any such dramatic intentions. To be able to script, or better yet perhaps, intuitively glide cams along a path with a keyframing system, aided by different kinds of lens and effecting, would certainly aid not just with serious machinema productions, but having a heckuva lot of fun.
