As many of you know that as you start aquiring items in your inventory it tends to get difficult to keep it organized, particularly when getting a large amount of items. Before you know it you have a mess on your hands. What I propose is a new inventory layout. The new layout would consist of multiple columns that can be collapsed or opened by clicking the appropriate button on top of the menu. The columns could possibly look like this.
1) Main Inventory: this would be user controlled. User would put items that they most commonly use into this column 2)New Items: All newly acquired items would be sent to this column. 3) The Attic: A place where users could place backups of items as well as the original packages. 4) Retail: A place to store all items that are sold by the user 5) Misc: One spot for users to use what ever way they see fit.
Being that we already have an inventory column, and a most reccent column it shouldn't be to o hard to add others. What would change is that one could keep multiple columns open to drag and drop.

While I like some of the ideas you mentionned here such as Retail folder etc, I wanted to point to you that LL DID make improvements to Inventory folders lately (1, 2 or 3 updates ago) that DOES let you check out new items separatly. Includes that you can now view all NEW items in a separated folder... (To the right). And you can choose if it will show all new items since 1 hour, 2 hours, etc.

Thanks for pointing that out, will check once back online. The new items feature is nice, what I don't like about it though is that it is not it's own folder but a filter. So it doesn't really keep it seperated. Unless I am mistaken, still relatively new around here.

Yes, there's a "Recent" tab.
As for all the rest of it, you can do that with folders.

Many people don't know that you can open two inventory windows at once. This is helpful for sorting as well.

I like the multi tab-column idea but.....

...................i would would be afraid i would fill those ones up too. a great organizer in world from ThinC. great to store stuff like xmas, valentines or things you wont use til the following year. Only thing is if you might need it right away its not in a folder but an object you must rez. nothing different then opening a new box, mind you. I like it cause it keeps the inventory clean-er. As for other more tabs, i like the idea, but then again i might be filling up those soon too .
