hi i was wondering how may of you would like to see the grid satus and map on the logon screen of the sl program the purpose of the map is you can choose what sim you would like to log on to before you even click logon and the grid status is so you know if he grid is online before even trying to log on. http://secondlife.com/vote/index.php?get_id=683

I think a good solution to this without cluttering up the display for the status part anyway, is for login to attempt as normal, and if login fails it queries for some info from the webserver where the status info is held, if status is normal it displays the normal error info for the problem, if the grid is down is displays an info box saying that the grid is down check the website for updates etc.

The reason I don't think the second one is a good idea is that people would try logging in anyway, just to make sure the grid was *really* down.
