To help add a new level of interactivity with our avatars, please allow us a way for a script to give an object to a user and have that object be instantly attached to the avatar (essentially going into their inventory and then being automatically worn, as you can do with clothing when sold by contents). Obviously, you would need a permission dialog, otherwise we could go around attaching stuff to people (an amusing thought, but I digress). It would be one less interaction users have to make with the godawful inventory window, and add some realism ( for example, a vending machine or bar offering a drink would instantly put the drink in the avatar's hand, instead of going into their inventory and forcing them to go find it and attach it).
Edit - corrected the word people LOL.

and and and you could script a 'auto dresser' which finds all your crap to make up one attachment based avatar and sticks em all on! And if it could attach clothes too... omg...
*walks to scripted closet, presses 'kitty', and gets kitt(i)ed out with tail, ears, paws, collar and catsuit.*
mwee! almost as good as symbolic links!

I support this.

Sure. The Occam's razor of drink, drank, drunk. LOL.
Ah Cristiano, intuitivity is definitely the name of the more-than-a-game here.

I heavily endorse this, as Cristiano said, it would allow us to add a whole new level of interactivity to things.

Um... you can do this, have the object rez, and ask them for permission to attach, then call llAttachToAvatar. Walla, object attaches to avatar and since you own anything attached it is also essentially giving itself to the avatar (it'll show up in their inventory as attached.

Your suggestion won't work. That function fails if you try to attach an object not owned by the person being attached to, even if they grant permission

Isn't it ironic how sometimes... the simplest things are so hard to do? But when everything works fluidly, it works beautifully?

This would be great if there was an event that fired when the avatar teleports. As many of you know, Darrly Chang and I sell virtual dogs, and they don't teleport with the owner, whcih causes them to go into "lost" mode when the owner teleports. If there were an event called llBeforeTeleport or something like that, I could attach the dog to the avatar before he teleports, then they would arrive at the destination with the dog, and then llAfterTeleport would fire which would detach the dog. Pretty please?
