Right now objects are streamed to players in what appears to be very little order other than that they are in a player's current view-pyramid.
Sometimes that will mean things will rez on the next property over before the stuff closer to you.
How about two suggestions for improving order-of-rendering, in addition to the current rendering scheme:
1. Proximity - objects closer to the player are enqueued to be rezzed first.
2. Parcel - objects in the parcel a player resides in are enqueued to be rezzed before objects not in the parcel. (This may be less server-CPU intense than option 1.)
3. A combination of 1 and 2.
Addendum: Order of the queue could be modified on client-side by where the Avatar currently is located.
Thoughts?

queing is based on prim size as well. So smaller prims will be loaded later then bigger ones.
I have no issues with the current cueing system.

Perhaps we should simply be able to chose how things are renderd/rezed via the options box. eather your way, or the current. Or a prioraty system..... There could also be a prioraty flag in a prim that the creator could set.

I would like to be able to turn off prim rendering from outside my parcel. Say I have a building on my land. There are no windows and only one door. If I want to, I should be able to seperate my parcel into two sections, build a wall around the inner section, and set the inner section to only render objects and avatars (or some combination -- say, objects, but not avatars or light sources) off that parcel. It'd be really handy, and easy on the framerates. Obviously, users could a toggle to let them override the land settings. If two neighbours hate each other and have each other's property blocked, visitors could choose whether or not to render it.
Basically, this would be a more flexible extention of what the old "draw distance" setting on land used to do. For those of you too young to remember, landowners used to be able to specify draw distance on a per-parcel basis. Clubs and stores frequently turned theirs down to 64m so as to allow their customers and patrons to have a far smoother experience while in the club. Then the Lindens were mean and stopped letting us do that. Oh well.
