I'd like to see an AV Flag, similar to <AWAY> or <BUSY> - that says <LINKDEAD> when the client loses communication with the server.

In my Everquest days, this was helpful - if there was another AV that was getting a ton of packet loss, and kept losing their connection - you could tell by <LINKDEAD> hovering over their AV when communication stopped.... then the AV would either come back when communication was restored, or the AV would go poof.

Last night, I was trying to run my GameShow, with 30% packet loss (that was fun). Sporadically, my bandwidth would drop to 0 for maybe 30-60 seconds or so, then return to normal.

Sure would have been nice if there was some sort of <LINKDEAD> next to my name, so that the people that were depending on me could tell immediately that I was incommunicado.

Oh Travis, I could definitely see this being handy for all the times I'm wondering why a friend is taking so long to type a single sentence... and then suddenly poofs. ;)
